Fully Insured & Bonded Professional Service
Kansas City Gutter Cleaning - Typical Clean Options.
I often work off of your roof or from ladders while you as the homeowner are safe in the knowledge I am fully insured. I remove leaves, debris, soil (the leaves turn into soil...your gutters are great composters) and other things (like tennis balls that you throw for your pup and end up in the gutters). As a crucial part of the gutter cleaning process, I also check that all downspouts are clear of debris and working properly. If needed I will run a handheld plumber's snake through ensuring that they are clear. Worst case we may have to take the downspouts apart and then reassemble to ensure they are in good working order for which there is an added charge.
*We will leave the bagged debris from your gutters and roof by your trash or in the alley dumpsters. We can haul it away for an additional $20 fee per bag. Please note, bagging of debris requires an additional fee unless requesting my basic clean-out service.
If water is spilling over your gutters the gutters are either clogged with debris or the gutters may require repair. Maintaining your gutter system helps keep water away from your home which helps prevent the growth of moss, molds, etc, and helps keep the bugs and wasps at bay. I can also perform any gutter repairs at that time which you can request or be disgusted at the time of service.
WHY SHOULD I HAVE MY GUTTERS CLEANED?
Residential and commercial gutters that haven't been cleaned tend to be full of debris. This debris causes rainwater to back up and flow over the edge of the gutters causing foundation damage, siding damage, etc. Standing rain water also causes sagging and rotting of your gutters which means a good bit of money out of your pocket to fix.
Many professionals within the real estate industry have found regular gutter cleaning to be a vital home maintenance item. When purchasing a home many home inspectors will look at the condition of the gutters and observe if they have been cleaned or maintained. When selling your home you will want to have your gutters cleaned before an inspection is scheduled. But when done correctly or maintained on a regular basis, adds more value to your home.
I have the skills to assess the condition of the gutters and make most minor gutter repairs if needed. Such repairs may include sealing gutter seams, adding or repairing gutter brackets. I also offer a foam cover gutter protection system too which is hugely popular should you need some form of cover at the time.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE A GUTTER CLEANER OUT?
In most instances semi-annual gutter cleanings (twice per year) is recommended. You want to do one gutter cleaning in the Fall after the leaves have fallen. This will keep your gutters from holding water and then freezing. Problems like this are very common and cause so much damage yet are easily avoided with a little planning and will save you from costly gutter repairs. People spend hundreds and thousands of dollars repairing the effects of freezing/thawing (ice damns) on their gutters, woodwork and foundations.
The other time to have a gutter cleaner out is in the spring as your trees bud and produce leaves/seeds/flowers. Most people don't realize how many seeds, etc. come off of a tree this time of year. It's enough to easily clog/prevent drainage and cause the dreaded "run over the top" syndrome that damages foundations, siding, fascia, etc.. We find all sorts of things clogging gutters for instance, pigeon droppings, nests, dead animals, kid's toys, pet toys, roof shingles, etc..
HOW DO YOU ACTUALLY CLEAN MY GUTTERS?
I hand scoop the large debris out with a gutter scoop and bag that (If paying for bagging service). Then I use a high pressure leaf blower to remove additional debris. I may tap on downspouts with my hand to get the debris moving and then use the high pressure leaf blower to force the debris through. We also run a hand held plumber's snake down the downspouts to test that they are clear. We can flush underground downspouts for an additional fee. We may blow some small residual debris out over the lawn when necessary which is organic debris and will decompose naturally. Over the years we have found that blowers clean the gutters better then water and reduces the mess, waste and is safer then using water on a roof. We will also blow off the decks, walkways and drives out into the yard. We will leave the bagged debris from your gutters and roof by your trash or in the alley dumpsters. Certainly call with any questions. You will always receive a friendly professional reply.
