Professional Gutter Cleaning Services in Kansas City

British Before and After Gutter Cleaning

Kansas City Gutter Cleaning - Typical Clean Options.

I often work off your roof or from ladders while you, as the homeowner, can rest easy knowing I am fully insured. My gutter cleaning service removes leaves, debris, soil (since leaves turn into soil, your gutters serve as great composters), and various items (like tennis balls that your pup may throw and accidentally land in the gutters). An integral part of the gutter maintenance process includes checking that all downspouts are clear of debris and functioning properly. If necessary, I will use a handheld plumber's snake to ensure they're unclogged. In some cases, we might need to disassemble the downspouts and reassemble them to ensure they work well, which incurs an additional charge.

*After cleaning, we will leave the bagged debris from your gutters and roof by your trash or in the alley dumpsters. For an additional $20 fee per bag, we can also haul it away. Please note that bagging debris requires an extra fee unless you choose my basic clean-out service.

If you notice water spilling over your gutters, it indicates that they are either clogged with debris or require repair. Regular gutter maintenance is crucial, as it helps direct water away from your home, preventing the growth of moss, mold, and pests like bugs and wasps. I can also handle any gutter repairs at the time of service, whether you request them or they become apparent during the cleaning.

WHY SHOULD I HAVE MY GUTTERS CLEANED?

Both residential and commercial gutters that haven’t undergone regular gutter cleaning often fill with debris. This accumulation can cause rainwater to back up, flowing over the edge of the gutters and leading to foundation damage and siding issues. Standing rainwater leads to sagging and rotting of gutters, which can cost homeowners significantly to repair.

Many professionals in the real estate sector consider regular gutter maintenance a vital home upkeep task. When buying a home, many inspectors evaluate the condition of the gutters and whether they’ve been cleaned or maintained. Before putting your home on the market, it’s wise to have your gutters cleaned to ensure they’re in good condition, as regular maintenance enhances the property's value.

I possess the skills to assess gutter conditions and perform most minor repairs as needed, such as sealing gutter seams and repairing or adding gutter brackets. Additionally, I offer a popular foam cover gutter protection system if you need to install some form of cover.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE A GUTTER CLEANER OUT?

Typically, semi-annual gutter cleanings (twice a year) are recommended. One cleaning should occur in the fall after the leaves have fallen, preventing water accumulation and freezing, which can cause extensive damage. These common issues are easily avoidable with strategic planning and can save you from costly repairs later. Homeowners often spend hundreds or even thousands on repairs due to the effects of freezing and thawing (ice dams) on their gutters, woodwork, and foundations.

The second cleaning should take place in the spring as your trees start to bud and shed leaves, seeds, and flowers. Many people underestimate how much organic material falls during this period, which is easily enough to clog gutters, leading to the dreaded "run over the top" syndrome that damages foundations, siding, fascia, and more. We discover all kinds of debris clogging gutters, including pigeon droppings, nests, dead animals, children's toys, pet toys, roof shingles, and more.

HOW DO YOU ACTUALLY CLEAN MY GUTTERS?

I hand scoop larger debris using a gutter scoop and bag it (if you select the bagging service). Following this, I employ a high-pressure leaf blower to remove additional debris. I may tap on downspouts to move the debris and use the leaf blower to push it through. We run a handheld plumber's snake down the downspouts to confirm they are clear, and we can also flush underground downspouts for an extra fee. Some residual debris may be blown onto the lawn, which is organic and will decompose naturally. Over the years, we’ve learned that blowers clean gutters more effectively than water while reducing mess, waste, and enhancing safety when working on a roof. We will also clear decks, walkways, and driveways as we work, blowing debris out into the yard. The bagged debris will be left by your trash or in alley dumpsters. Please feel free to call with any questions. You will always receive a friendly, professional response.

HOW MUCH DOES GUTTER CLEANING COST?

The cost of gutter cleaning in the Kansas City area varies significantly, depending on whether you prioritize hiring an insured professional or are simply looking for the cheapest option, unsure of the quality of service. However, you can easily get an idea of the costs by calling, texting, or through my online form request here. Our prices are based on the home's square footage and roof pitch. Cleaning 2-3 story homes costs more due to safety and insurance factors. Gutters filled with years of accumulated debris may also incur higher costs due to the extra time required for thorough cleaning and clean-up. Remember, estimates are FREE, so there's no risk in exploring the best value for your gutting cleaning needs with the assurance that the job is done right the first time.
