Look for experience and professionalism, not just a couple of testimonials. Recommendations from neighbors and friends are a great sign that you are hiring a reliable professional window cleaner who will do an excellent job for you as well.

Q: How do residential window washing companies price jobs?

A: Many window cleaning companies typically bid based on how long the job will take or by the count and style of windows, with fees reflecting their skill and knowledge. Be cautious of the lowest bid in town; cheap services often come with hidden costs. Remember, window cleaning is a luxury service.

Q: Doesn't it make sense to wait until the rainy season is over to clean my windows?

A: Clean windows look fantastic in all seasons, especially during the holidays, Spring, and Summer when outdoor colors shine. The belief that rain will dirty your windows is a myth; rain alone won't make them look bad. It's only when rain mixes with dirt that windows get streaked, or if the outside screens are dirty. 

In fact, rain will sheet off clean glass when it's been professionally cleaned and will maintain its appearance longer, thanks to the added coverage I apply.

Q: Are your cleaning products safe?

A: Yes, there's no need to worry. Our products are safe and biodegradable. We avoid using ammonia or alcohol-based solutions, which could affect fabrics, flooring, or pets—just like you, I own a dog and regularly clean my windows.

Q: How often should I have my windows cleaned?

A: Honestly, this is a personal choice. How often do you want to enjoy looking out through nice, clean windows? Depending on your location and specific circumstances, window cleaning can be arranged on a call-out basis or on a regular schedule. Most of my residential window washing clients prefer to have their windows cleaned every six months. Storm windows with frames typically need cleaning about that often as well.

Ideally, you should plan for a professional cleaning of your windows inside and out at least once a year to keep them in good shape and enhance your home's curb appeal. You may find that after your windows are professionally cleaned, you will want to maintain a regular schedule of every three to six months, and don't forget—there's a 20% discount when you book a repeat service in the same year.

Q: What if I only want the exterior of my windows cleaned?

A: That's absolutely fine. If you prefer, I can clean just the outside for you.

Q: I have difficult-to-reach windows; will you be able to clean them?

A: I've never encountered a window I couldn't reach, even up to three stories. My first step is to assess the style of your windows, the height of your home, and how it's situated—whether flat or on a hill, etc.

I am also available to come out and discuss your needs if you have specific concerns. With my fully equipped truck, any window is accessible.

Q: My windows look awful; they're misty and foggy. Will the fog go away after you clean them?

A: Unfortunately, the answer is no. Foggy windows often indicate damaged or defective double-paned glass, typically caused by prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or a broken seal. Regular cleaning won't improve these issues; it may be necessary to replace the affected windows, which can be costly.

Q: Do you have weekend appointments?

A: Weekend appointments are available and reserved on a first-come basis. Larger jobs are typically scheduled on weekends, but if you specifically need service on a Saturday, please let me know when you call, and I'll do my best to accommodate your request.

Q: What is the earliest appointment time available?

A: I usually start at 9:30 AM, although this can vary depending on the time of year and workload for the day. My afternoon appointments may vary more based on the size and type of the job, but I can usually provide a close estimate within a one-hour window, no pun intended! 

Q: How long does it take to complete an interior and exterior window cleaning job?

A: This will depend on your home's size and window style, which I’m sure you understand. I typically complete jobs efficiently, but if it has been a while since your windows were cleaned, it may take slightly longer initially. 

When you text or call to schedule your appointment, feel free to ask for an estimated time for completion, and we can plan accordingly around your schedule. If you need to leave during the service, you can leave a check, or I'll send you an invoice if I feel comfortable doing so.

Q: What should I do to prepare for my appointment?

A: I ask that you remove any expensive valuables in front of your windows or items attached to the glass before I arrive. If needed, I can move them to access the glass. It is my pleasure to make your window cleaning experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

Q: Will you inform me of your arrival time? My last guy was never on time!

A: Absolutely! I will always provide you with a set time and date for your appointment, making it easier for you to plan your day around it. You won't be left waiting to see if I arrive. If there are any delays due to traffic, I will keep you updated.

Q: What payment methods do you accept?

A: I accept credit cards, debit cards, cash, or checks.

Q: When is payment due?

A: Payment is due upon completion of the job. If you’re not home, an invoice will be mailed to you once you become a confirmed yearly customer.
